Florida Road Races hosts a handful of races throughout Tampa Bay and I've had my eye on their events for a while. For one, their medals are always so beautiful and running a race in my backyard is always tempting. This year was the 17th annual event and would include multiple distances- a 50K, marathon, halfathon (their terminology for a half marathon), 5-Miler, and 5K. I absolutely love the 5 Mile distance. Making It Work Together
I drive 52 miles round trip almost every day. On busy days, I drive about 60- home to work. Work to the base. The base to home. And so it goes. On Tuesdays, I can usually squeeze in a run while Pea is at Girl Scouts. But not today. Today, my training schedule called for 3 miles and I got in 1- and a pretty slow mile at that (winds are kickin' up pretty high here in Tampa Bay). And I wanted to be bummed, but... My Year of Running Dangerously by Tom Foreman {Review}
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for free in order to facilitate this review. I really didn't know what to expect when I started this, but since I'm training for my second half I thought this book would be a great read. Tom has such an amazing way with words. Every single page in this book made me want to put on my shoes, go out, and run. Go Get It Done
As I stood there putting on CJ's pajamas I thought- I really need to be better about giving this dude a bath at an earlier hour. You see, my secret mommy-hood confession is that I wait until it is super close to bedtime and then I'm too tired to give him a bath and then I think "I'll do it in the morning" and well...
