God Made You Special {Review}

March 27, 2015 ·

  Disclaimer: I am a Book Look Blogger and received this book in exchange for a review. What a cute little book from the Berenstain Bears to teach children about acceptance. There is a cookout at the Bear family home, the Bruins come and bring their cousin Tommy along. The Bear children realize that Tommy doesn't "play like the others," which is an observation that any young child would make. What I love in this is that there is a lesson for parents and children. Mama bear explains that God makes us all unique and that everyone has talents. In this … [Read more...]

You’re Doing It Right

March 24, 2015 · 2 Comments

I saw my therapist yesterday. I love her for more reasons than one, but I trust her so much because she's been seeing me since 2006- that's a long time. I know... you're thinking "You've been in therapy that long?!" I mean... yes and no. On and off since 2006. I'm not really the ideal therapy patient. Sometimes she doesn't hear from me for weeks...months... one year. Then I'll call. That's neither here nor there. I don't think therapy is a thing that you can "pass out of" per se. You don't take a test and then say "well, I'm done." I think some people know when … [Read more...]

My Book Of Everything To Color {Review}

March 13, 2015 ·

I received this book from Parragon Books for this review. This month's book was a perfect choice for our house. My oldest is very creative and loves anything related to the arts including dancing, singing and drawing. She is the QUEEN of coloring and is an absolute perfectionist when she does it- paying attention to the lines and shading, etc. She was beyond excited to receive this book. The book is broken up into sections, which she had me add tabs to so that it would be easy for her to find the section she wanted to color in that day. Topics include: sports, … [Read more...]

If The Shoe Fits…

March 10, 2015 · Leave a Comment

That doesn't necessarily mean that you should wear it.  This past weekend the family and I went on a road trip. I made sure to pack some gym clothes because there's no slacking- even on vacation. (amirite?!) What I didn't pack- was my running sneakers. I brought my everyday sneakers and I thought that those would be good enough for me to run in. Wrong. I hit the treadmill at the hotel and less than one mile in I knew that my Nike Free sneakers were no real replacement for my Saucony Guide 7's- my real running shoes. The shin splints started and they … [Read more...]

The Adrenal Reset Diet {Review}

March 9, 2015 ·

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review. Part of my journey with taking back my health has led me to reading lots of books. Not necessarily looking for answers, but to arm myself with as much information as possible to help me make more knowledgeable decisions. It also allows me to ask the "right" questions if and when I go to the doctor. I jumped on the chance to read and review this book because when I went to my naturalist/nutritionist she mentioned that my adrenal glands may be all out of whack. She felt that my adrenals would be the answer … [Read more...]
